Attaching Polygons
To attach a polygon(s) to other layers:
1. Select the polygon(s) you want to attach:
§ If you want to attach a specific polygon, select the required polygon. See “Selecting a Polygon or Rectangle” in this chapter for more information.
§ If you want to attach all polygons, which have been attached to any one of the layers in Edit mode, on the Polygons tab, in the Select group, click All Polygons.
§ If you only want to attach all polygons, which have been attached to all the layers in Edit mode, on the Polygons tab, in the Select group, click Common Polygons.
2. If you want to attach the polygon(s) to multiple layers:
a. Select the Edit check box for all layers you want it attached to.
b. On the Polygon Edit tab, in the Layers group, click the arrow next to Attach to Layer and select Attach to All layers in Edit mode.
3. If you want to attach the polygon(s) to a specific layer, do the following:
a. On the Polygon Edit tab, in the Layers group, click the arrow next to Attach to Layer and select Attach to Layer.
b. Click either of the following:
§ The layer in the Working Window.
§ The name of the layer in the Layer List.
Note: If more than one layer is under the cursor in the Working Window, a shortcut menu displays, with menu options for each of the layers under the cursor as well as the All Layers option.
The polygon is attached to the required layer.
Note: If you want to exit from attach mode, without attaching a polygon, right-click anywhere in the working window, or again click Attach to Layer.
